BUSINESS TIPS WHEN CHANGE IS ON THE AGENDA
With career transition and job change on the agenda for many, whether planned or not, some valuable tips for those in management or running business, from two of our recent The Making of Me speakers Jan Stuart and Marie Finlay from Nexus Strategic Solutions on the topic of managing staff change:

- Where possible avoid downsizing
- Over-communicate and employ a participative approach
- Be clear about future business directions and link any change to strategy
- Support those who are ‘cut’ - those being retrenched or made redundant
- Do not ignore the ‘survivors’ - those left behind
- Re-design and restructure jobs to compensate for lost staff
- Capture the ‘learning” and information leaving the organisation
- The golden rule - treat others as you would like to be treated too
